Schavemaker Containers works in the field of transport and logistics for loose bulk materials such as scrap metal, raw materials, trade waste, household waste, water purification sediment and other loose bulk materials. For each type of material, we find the means of transport that can be used most efficiently and can therefore offer the customer the very best solution in terms of price. With our fleet of 45 units and a good 400 containers in sizes ranging from 15 m³ to 42 m³, we are one of the largest logistics suppliers for loose bulk materials. In addition to transport, the organisation is also arranged so as to offer logistics services to the client.

Trucks with trailers fitted with a container removal system
These vehicles enable us to transport bulk goods such as trade waste, household waste and lighter types of scrap metal. The advantage of these vehicles is that different types of containers can be used to suit the type of load. Many of our clients choose to have some of our containers left with them, exchanging them for empty containers either when the client so requests or on fixed dates. The full containers are then transported to the delivery address.

Multi-axle vehicles with container removal systems
Schavemaker Containers have a number of 4-5 axle vehicles which can be used to transport heavy materials over short distances. These vehicles have a dual-drive system so that they can also be driven on unmetalled surfaces. Furthermore, an on-board weighing system means that our drivers can read off the weight that has been loaded, thus preventing overloading and, just as importantly, also under-loading. These vehicles have a container removal system so that empty containers can be exchanged for full ones at the loading site, so there is no delay and as a result these vehicles can transport an extremely large tonnage per hour.

Trucks with tip-up trailers
Trucks with tip-up trailers are particularly good for transporting loose bulk goods over long distances. In addition, this type of transport is itself low in weight, which makes it very efficient for use when transporting goods to other European countries, such as Germany and France, where the permitted total weight is considerably lower than in the Netherlands.

Inbound logistics
Schavemaker Containers provides the scrap metal inbound logistics for the Corus factory at Ijmuiden. Corus at Ijmuiden uses an enormous amount of scrap metal, which is a raw material for making steel. Schavemaker keeps a number of lorries in constant service (7 days a week, 24 hours a day) to ensure that the steel factory is supplied with the correct quantity and quality of scrap metal. We also provide other logistics services, such as stock management using specially developed containers, weighing, registration and communication.
This concept achieves a great cost advantage for the client throughout the whole logistical route from the scrap metal sender right through to scrap metal consumption at the steel factory.
